20 years in R&D leadership in medtech and pharma showed the same pattern: large organizations do too much, small ones too little, and both cost time.
The idea for Skibla took shape a few weeks before a design verification. A test had shown a problem in a device, and the filing date depended on the verification passing. Everyone, management included, was sure the device had to be redesigned, and the timeline was suddenly at risk. The answer came from another angle: the company’s own test procedure was stricter than the standard required. Bringing the procedure in line with the standard, with a small design fix prepared in parallel as insurance, kept the date.
A problem can almost always be solved in more than one way. That is what diligence, when it counts, means: looking at the problem from every angle and choosing the solution that fits best. AI now makes it possible to bring that to every project. The judgement and the recommendation stay human, and every conclusion is documented.

Skibla comes from Skíðblaðnir, the ship the dwarves built for the god Freyr in Norse mythology. It always had a fair wind, wherever it was headed, and when it was not needed, it folded small enough to carry in a pouch. That is the idea behind Skibla: out of the way until a project needs to move, then unfolded to take you where you need to go. Today, the wind comes from AI.

Peter has led R&D and innovation in medtech and pharma device development for 20 years, most recently in the management of Technolution and MGS. As consultant, project leader and account lead, he has worked for companies including Coloplast, Amgen, LEO Pharma and Medtronic. He knows the full path from concept through production and tooling, and has built several autoinjector platforms from scratch, one of them a Danish Design Award 2026 finalist. MSc in engineering, industrial design. He builds AI agents and automation himself and uses them in every project.
Skibla brings in specialists from its network when a project calls for it.
